Summit County, like Tooele County to the west, has a large Interstate highway running through the middle of it, so the cops there are particularly good at picking out folks from out-of-state and busting them for drug charges (see my blog post Tooele Highway Drug Stops).   Summit County also encompasses the resort community of Park City, so it’s also common to see charges related to people having a little too much fun: intoxication charges, minor in possession charges, marijuana charges.

Typically, anything charged as a Misdemeanor B or below will go to the Summit County Justice Court. Misdemeanor As and Felony charges go to the Summit County District Court.
