About Salt Lake Country Criminal Courts
There are a lot of them. Basically, if you were charged with Misdemeanor B or below within the limits of a city that has a justice court, the case will go there. If you were charged with a Misdemeanor B or below in the unincorporated areas of the county, it will go to Salt Lake County Justice Court. If you were charged with a Misdemeanor A or a felony, it will go to either the West Jordan District Court or the Salt Lake District Court. If you were charged with federal crime anywhere in the county (or even the neighboring counties), it will go to the federal court in Salt Lake City.

The current federal courthouse is at 350 S Main ST, Salt Lake City, UT. They are constructing a new courthouse directly behind it, referred to around town as “The Borg” for its similarity to that alien spaceship from Star Trek.
