Juvenile Defense

  • Most crimes committed by anyone under 18 years old are not prosecuted as "crimes" at all; they are handled in juvenile courts as civil matters. But that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be taken seriously, because the consequences can be similar to a criminal charge: detention, probation, a type of record that can restrict your future options.

At Smoland Law, we have experience handling the unique procedures in Utah's Juvenile Courts, and helping young people (and their loved ones) through a difficult period. If you or your child has had a case started against them in Juvenile Court, or thinks it might be coming, drop us a line.
