Carbon County Utah Marijuana Charges

Carbon County, Utah has no freeways, but it does have beautiful, windy Highway 6, the main route from Salt Lake City and points west to Denver and points east. Consequently, it gets a lot of traffic for a small, rural, county in the Utah desert. They also do a fair amount of marijuana busts on that highway, both large and small (the route between Northern California and Colorado, do I have to spell it out?), so I’ve been getting cases down there with some regularity.

It is an interesting place to have court. The process there is pretty slow. Helper Justice Court, for instance, holds court hearings only once a month, on the first Friday of the month, and Carbon County Justice Court not much more than that. It can be a little difficult to contact them, too. Whenever I call the court down in Helper, for instance, I picture a rotary telephone ringing in an empty, sun-dappled room, with a single fly buzzing around. This can be a little frustrating, but having a case there is not necessarily a bad thing, at least not worse than having a criminal case anywhere else in Utah. I have found the court staff to be helpful and the prosecutors reasonable to work with. The process is just a little different.

If you have a marijuana case in Price, Helper, or anywhere in Carbon County, Utah, get in touch with me and we’ll talk it over and see how I might be able to help you. If you live out of state, there’s a good chance I can get it resolved without you coming back to Utah.
